It’s no secret that we are tequila fans at Garnish with Lemon as you can see with our collection of fresh margarita on the rocks recipes or this raspberry Paloma.

Being that tequila is our friend, I’m not sure why it took me so long to drink this drink. I think the grenadine scared me into thinking this was a syrupy sweet drink, but really it just adds a little color to this gorgeous tequila sunrise.

    Why you'll love this recipe

✔︎ It’s a great alternative to a traditional  Bloody Mary, mimosa or spritz for brunch.

✔︎ It’s gorgeous. The grenadine gives the cocktail the perfect ombre sunrise color. Who doesn’t love that?

✔︎ It’s  easy to keep the ingredients on hand. Just a few simple ingredients are all you need to make these smooth cocktails.

✔︎ It’s bubbly! Bubbles make everything better and this tequila sunrise mimosa is no exception.

    Ingredients

You only need a four ingredients for this tequila sunrise mimosa.

Bottles of prosecco, grenadine, orange juice and tequila.

Tequila: Use a 100% agave blanco tequila for a smooth mimosa.

Orange juice: Fresh is best for cocktails. Always.

Prosecco: Keep the small bottles of prosecco around to make just one or two of these mimosas.

Grenadine: Don't skip this ingredient! The grenadine is what gives the drink its gorgeous ombre color.

    Expert Tips

✘ Use 100% agave tequila. Cheap tequila blends are the recipe for a headache.

✘ Use a silver tequila for this drink. Blanco tequila is nice and smooth and pairs well with the orange juice. Save your anejo tequila for a nighttime sipper like this tequila old fashioned.

✘ Add the grenadine last and don’t stir it. If you stir the drink once the grenadine has been added you will have a pretty pink drink, not the ombre sunrise you are looking for.
