Ingredient Notes:
Blueberries: Fresh blueberries give the best flavor and color to the simple syrup, but frozen can be used in a pinch.
Tequila: I like a blanco tequila for this cocktail but use your favorite. Just make sure it's 100% agave whatever brand you decide to use.
Lime Juice: Fresh lime juice is the only way to go when are you using it for cocktails.
Grand Marnier: This is my orange liqueur of choice, but feel free to use Cointreau or Triple Sec in its place.
Instructions
The hardest part about making a blueberry margarita is waiting for the simple syrup to be done.
Add water, blueberries and sugar to small pan and bring to a boil. Mash the berries and strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve. Refrigerate the syrup until ready to use.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add tequila, Grand Marnier and lime juice.
Add the blueberry simple syrup and shake vigorously. Strain into a salt rimmed glass filled with ice and serve!

Ingredients
Blueberry Simple Syrup
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup sugar
Blueberry Margarita
- 1 ½ ounces Blueberry Simple Syrup
- 1 ½ ounces Fresh Lime Juice
- 1 ½ ounces Grand Marnier
- 2 ½ ounces Tequila
- Lime Wedges
- Kosher Salt
Instructions
- Place the blueberries in a small pan along with the sugar and water and bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar.1 cup fresh blueberries, ½ cup sugar, ½ cup water
- Cook for 8-10 minutes until the berries have just started to burst. Remove from heat and mash the berries in the pan.
- Set a fine mesh sieve over a glass bowl and pour the blueberry mixture in. Strain the juices out and let the syrup cool.
- Rim a low ball glass with lime and salt fill with ice and set aside,Lime Wedges, Kosher Salt
