Why you will love this drink

▶︎ No planning required. This recipe doesn't require the extra step of freezing your wine ahead of time. Simply grab your blender, dump the ingredients, give it a whirl and you are ready to sip!

▶︎ It's light and refreshing. The frozen fruit makes this slushy cocktail lower in alcohol content than drinking straight wine. A great option for hot summer days.

▶︎ It's budget-friendly. Not only does adding the frozen fruit make a bottle of wine go farther, but you also don't need to use an expensive bottle of rosé.

    Ingredients

You only need 4 ingredients to make wine slushies.

Bottle of rosé, lemon, sugar and frozen strawberries to make Frozen Rosé.

    Ingredient Notes:

Strawberries: Using frozen strawberries gives you great strawberry flavor without needing to add ice.

Lemon Juice: Fresh lemon juice is best for cocktails. Always.

Rosé: Save your expensive bottles of wine for another time. A good mid-range bottle is perfect for frozen drinks.

Superfine Sugar: Superfine sugar dissolves into the drink without a grainy texture and is easy to find at the grocery store. The amount needed may vary depending on the sweetness of your berries and your wine.

    Instructions

These wine slushies can be ready to drink in less than 10 minutes.

Blender jar filled with frozen strawberries, sugar and lemon juice.

Add the frozen strawberries, superfine sugar, and lemon juice to the blender.

Pour a bottle of rosé over the fruit and blend until pureéd. Serve immediately or freeze until ready to use.

    FAQs

Can I use fresh strawberries to make frozen rosé?

Frozen strawberries are best for this recipe. The consistency and flavor will be different with fresh berries because you will need ice to make the drink "frozen", which will dilute the strawberry flavor.

Can you add another alcohol to the Frozen Rosé?

Looking for a boozier option? Add a shot of vodka, rum, or elderflower liqueur to the top of the frosé when serving and stir it in!

Does the blender make a difference in how the slushies turn out?

100 percent. A good blender makes a huge difference. We both have Blendtecs and love them but they are especially great for making smoothies and frozen drinks. You can use any blender, of course, but you may need to process your drinks a few times to make sure they are smooth and free of chunks.

Can Frozen Rosé be made ahead of time?

Absolutely! Simply prepare as normal and then pop it in a container and store it in the freezer. It won't freeze solid because of the alcohol content.

Pro Tip: Use an ice cream scooper to portion it out when serving frosé from the freezer.

Expert Tips for the Best Frozen Rosé

✔️ Start with chilled ingredients. Chilled wine and juice will keep your frosé extra slushy without additional ice that can dilute the flavor.

✔️ Only use fresh lemon juice. Bottled juice contains preservatives that alter the taste. the extra minute of squeezing the juice is worth it.

✔️ Use a mid-range price rosé. No need for an expensive bottle to make this refreshing cocktail, when you are mixing wine with other ingredients it doesn't need to be your best bottle.

✔️ Use a wine you like to drink. If you like sweeter wines pick a rosé that is more berry forward in flavor, if you like things less sweet, opt for a drier variety.

✔️ Taste and adjust sugar if necessary. The sweetness of the wine and your berries will have an impact on the end result of the frozen rosé. Start with 2 tablespoons and add more if desired.
