People always go crazy for bacon, right?
These Bacon Bites, my friends, are what you call INSANELY GOOD party food: 4 ingredients, family-friendly and incredibly easy.
And good party food that is easy to make and always disappears pretty much ticks every box on my list of perfect appetizers.
Now be prepared; these tasty appetizers - filled with cheesy, crunchy goodness - are literally show stoppers.
Trust me on this one.
Why this appetizer is so good
- Bite-sized snacks are always easy to serve and eat at a party.
- It's easy to make a double (or triple) batch.
- Everyone loves bacon, especially when it's wrapped around bread.
- They taste great hot out of the oven and stay crispy when they are room temperature.
Ingredients
You can't go wrong when there are only FOUR ingredients. Does it get much easier than this?
A few ingredient notes:
- Bread: The type of bread you use makes a big difference in the outcome. Make sure you use English muffin toasting bread or Pepperidge Farm Original White Bread. If you try to use regular wheat bread, you will not get the same crunchy results.
- Cream Cheese: Use whipped cream cheese for easy spreading.
Time saving tip: Want to make this even easier? Buy a tub of spreadable chive and garlic cream cheese and use instead of the plain cream cheese and fresh chives.
Instructions
It's simple to make these little bites of goodness:
Cut the crusts off the all of the bread and reserve those for another use.
Spread a thin layer of cream cheese on each slice of bread.
Sprinkle with chives.
Using the long side of the bread, roll into a log form.
Spiral wrap the bacon around each log.
Cut each piece of bacon bread in half and bake until crisp.
FAQs
I use Pepperidge Farm Original White Bread nearly every time I make these, but it's not always easy to find. If you are having trouble finding it at the store, you can swap in English Muffin Bread (NOT English Muffins).
You can! Start by preheating your grill to 425°F.
Line a baking pan with foil and place a cooling rack on top of the foil. This makes sure the bacon cream cheese bites don't sit in the grease as they cook and allows them to get extra crispy!
Set the bacon cream cheese bites on prepared pan and grill for 20 minutes and turn them. Grill another 8-10 minutes or until crispy.
Absolutely! Prep these the morning of the party, place in a plastic container and cover tightly. Refrigerate until ready to bake.

Bacon, cream cheese, and English muffin bread! Three of my favorite things in one great sounding appetizer/snack. Can't wait to try these!

I've made something similar for years. (Spread with either mushroom soup, pimento cheese or goat cheese. I've also wanted to try it with blue cheese.)
I have made a big batch weeks ahead, baked them until the bacon shrinksj but isn't entirely crisp, cool, frozen them on a cookie sheet then put them in a Ziploc.
Great to have on hand for company (or movie night) don't thaw, just pop in the oven until crisp.
Hope that helps the make ahead/ freeze questions.

This is the first I've seen of something close that grandma used to make and now I make.Instead of chives, use crushed pineapple, mix with cream cheese and spread on bread and wrap in bacon. It is absolutely amazing!!
Judith Hanses says
Lisa, is the Pepperidge Farm white bread denser than regular white bread, say Wonder or Bunny Bread? Is that why it works out so much better?
Lisa says
Hi Judith, I have never made it with the Wonder or BUnny bread., but let me know how it turns out if you try it. I like the Pepperidge Farm original because it is dense and can hold up to the bacon. However you make them, they are delicious!
