Add the sugar, mint leaves and lime juice to the bottom of a high ball glass and muddle gently to release the oil from the mint leaves.
2 teaspoons Superfine sugar, 12 Mint leaves, 1 ounce Freshly squeezed lime juice
Fill glass with ice and add rum and mango nectar. Stir to combine.
2 ounces Light rum, 2 ounces Mango nectar
Top with club soda, stir and serve immediately.
2 ounces Club soda
Notes
Light rum is best for mojitos.
Fresh lime juice is a must for cocktails. The bottled juice contains preservatives that alter the flavor.
Superfine sugar is simply granulated sugar that is a finer grain so it will dissolve easily in cocktails.
Mango Nectar gives you a better mango flavor than mango juice.
Drink making Tips✘ Muddle gently. Muddling is key to releasing the oil from the mint leaves giving the drink its signature minty flavor. If you muddle too aggressively it can become bitter.✘ Use superfine sugar. Superfine sugar dissolves completely into the lime juice so there isn't any sugar residue at the bottom of your glass.✘ Add lots of ice. Mojitos are stirred, not shaken so adding lots of ice will properly chill your cocktail.✘ Use quality club soda. There is a difference in mixers and when we are taking the time to make a cocktail we use the best. Fever Tree is one of our favorites.
