Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with foil. Set aside.
Put crust in 9-inch pie plate. Flute or crimp edges to fit.

Crumble Topping
Place flour, sugar and butter in a food processor and pulse until crumbly in texture.
½ cup flour, ½ cup butter,, ½ cup white sugar
Apple Pie
Place sliced apples in a large bowl. Add flour, cinnamon and sugar and toss well to coat.
8 cups peeled, cored and thinly sliced apples, 3 tbsp flour, 1-1½ tbsp ground cinnamon, ¾ cup sugar
Pour apples in prepared crust and spread evenly. Sprinkle crumble mixture over top.
Place pie on prepared pan and bake for 60 minutes or until lightly brown and apples are tender. Let pie sit for 30 minutes before serving.
Serve warm or room temperature with vanilla ice cream if desired.
Notes
Use your favorite baking apple or a combination of sweet and tart apples for best flavor.
Adjust the cinnamon according to your taste. If you love a strong cinnamon flavor add an extra half of a tablespoon of cinnamon.
Pile those apples high in the crust! It always amazes me how much the apples bake down when cooking.
If you are craving a double crust pie instead of the crumble topping, simply use a second pie crust in its place. Just be sure to cut some slits in the top for steam to escape.
