Fill a highball glass with ice. Pour whiskey into glass.
2 ounces whiskey
Top with ginger ale.
5 ounces ginger ale
Squeeze and float a lime wedge in the glass.
1 lime wedge
Notes
Feel free to use your favorite bourbon in place of the whiskey in this drink.
Want a spicier, more robust cocktail? Use ginger beer instead of ginger ale. I prefer Fever-Tree or Q Mixers ginger ales in my Whiskey Gingers.
The amount of whiskey suggested in the recipe is a starting point. New to whiskey? Add a little less. A passionate whiskey fan? Add a little more.
Use lots of ice. You want your glass filled nearly to the brim to ensure your cocktail stays well-chilled. No one likes a lukewarm drink.
This whiskey and ginger ale drink is perfect for a DIY drink station. Set the whiskey, ginger ale and lime wedges on a table along with glasses and ice for guests to serve themselves.
