Cool fall nights need cozy cocktails to keep you toasty. This Irish Cream Scotchie Cocktail Recipe will warm you from the inside out, making it a perfect fireside sipper.
Fall has arrived in all its glory and it’s one of my favorite seasons of the year. You can’t go wrong with the sounds of leaves crunching under your feet, and the sunny, warm days that are followed by cool nights with a fire.
Which means I need something tasty to sip on by said fire, and this fall we are shaking up some Irish Cream Scotchie Cocktails to do just that.
What do I need to make an Irish Cream Scotchie cocktail?
The short answer is not much.
When you start with a decadent ingredient like Kerrygold Irish Cream Liqueur in a recipe, you don’t need a lot else to make it better. But since this is fall, we added butterscotch liqueur and a splash of heavy cream to complete the drink.
What is butterscotch liqueur?
Butterscotch liqueur also called schnapps. It is made with butter and brown sugar and tastes just like butterscotch candy. You can find it at any liquor store and can be clear or light brown in color.
The butterscotch flavor is a fabulous partner to the chocolaty flavor of the Kerrygold Irish Cream and needs to be in your liquor collection.
What if I don’t have heavy cream for this recipe?
This cocktail is super forgiving, so don’t worry if you don’t have heavy cream on hand. You can easily swap in some half and half or even milk. It will still taste delicious but will lose a little of its richness. (But that just means you can have 2, right?)
Can I drink this Irish Cream Scotchie cocktail on the rocks?
Sure! Feel free to drink it on the rocks or straight up. You can even change up the glassware and use a low ball glass rather than a martini glass. However you decide to enjoy it, it’s always a winner.
But don’t forget the garnish! The cocoa dusted on top is the perfect finishing touch that sets your drink apart from others.

- 2 ounces Kerrygold® Irish Cream Liqueur
- 2 Ounces Butterscotch Liqueur
- ½ ounce Heavy Cream or milk
- Cocoa powder for dusting
Fill a shaker with ice and add the Kerrygold Irish Cream, butterscotch liqueur and heavy cream.
Shake vigorously to combine and strain into martini glass.
Dust with cocoa powder to garnish and serve immediately.
